Abstract
In January 2021, Singaraja City was recorded to experience inflation as high as 0.94 percent with the Consumer Price Index (base year 2018 = 100) of 107.20. The inflation rate for the calendar year January 2021 is the same as the inflation rate for January 2021 as high as 0.94 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (January 2021 against January 2020 or YoY) was recorded as high as 2.75 percent.
Nine expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group I (food, beverages and tobacco) as high as 1.80 percent; group V (health) as high as 1.76 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture) as high as 0.91 percent; group IV (equipment, tools, and routine household maintenance) as high as 0.90 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.75 percent; group VI (transportation) as high as 0.74 percent; group IX (education) as high as 0.27 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.24 percent; group VII (information, communication and financial services) as high as 0.08 percent. Meanwhile, two other expenditure groups recorded that the index did not change or were stagnant, namely, group II (clothing and footwear) and group X (provision of food and beverages / restaurants).
Commodities recorded as contributing to inflation in January 2021 include cayenne pepper, filter clove cigarettes, pork, specialist doctor's rates, gold jewelery, tuna / ambu-ambu, canang sari, minor vehicle repairs, and preserved cobs.
Of the 90 CPI cities, 75 cities experienced inflation and 15 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Mamuju (West Sulawesi) as high as 1.43 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded in Balikpapan (East Kalimantan) and in Ambon (Maluku) as high as 0.02 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Bau-Bau (Southeast Sulawesi) at 0.92 percent, while the lowest deflation was recorded in Pontianak (West Kalimantan) at 0.01 percent. If sorted from highest inflation, Singaraja ranks 6th out of 75 cities experiencing inflation.
