Abstract

In June 2023 Denpasar City recorded a deflation of 0.08 percent as shown by a decrease in the Consumer Price Index (2018=100 base year) from 114.40 in May to 114.31 in June 2023. Meanwhile, the calendar year inflation rate (year to date/ytd) and year-on-year inflation rates (June 2023 against June 2022 or year on year /yoy) were recorded as high as 1.01 percent and 3.27 percent.

Of the 90 cities monitored by the National Inflation, 78 cities experienced inflation and the others experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Jayapura (Papua) as high as 1.36 percent, while the deepest deflation was recorded in Sumenep (East Java) as deep as 0.42 percent. If sorted from the deepest deflation, the City of Denpasar with a deflation of 0.08 percent ranks 8th out of 12 cities experiencing deflation.
