Abstract
In February 2020 Singaraja City recorded inflation as high as 0.70 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI 2018 = 100) of 105.06. The inflation rate for the calendar year February 2020 is as high as 1.38 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2020 against February 2019 or YoY) was recorded as high as 3.83 percent.
Eight expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) as high as 2.02 percent; group V (health) as high as 0.60 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.34 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.29 percent; group IV (household equipment, tools and routine maintenance) as high as 0.20 percent; group X (food and beverage / restaurant supply) as high as 0.13 percent; Group VIII (recreation, sports and culture as high as 0.10 percent; and group III (housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels) as high as 0.04 percent, while two expenditure groups recorded deflation, namely group VI (transportation) as deep as -0.68 percent, and group VII (information, communication and financial services) as deep as -0.05 percent, while for group IX (education) there was no change in index or stagnation.
Commodities recorded contributing to or contributing to inflation in February 2020 include, red chillies, white cigarettes, filter clove cigarettes, bananas, broilers, garlic, clove cigarettes, boiled cobs, watermelons, cooking oil and granulated sugar.
Out of 90 CPI cities, there were 73 cities experiencing inflation and 17 cities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Sintang City (West Kalimantan) as high as 1.21 percent while the lowest inflation was recorded in Pare-Pare City (South Sulawesi) as high as 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan City (Bangka Belitung Islands) as deep as -1.20 percent while the shallower deflation was recorded in Padangsidimpuan City (North Sumatra) as deep as -0.01 percent. If ranked from the highest inflation, then Singaraja ranks 10th out of 73 cities experiencing inflation.
