Abstract
In July 2020 Singaraja City recorded inflation as high as 0.11 percent with the Consumer Price Index (base year 2018 = 100) of 105.06. The current year inflation rate for July 2020 was as high as 1.38 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2020 against July 2019 or YoY) was recorded as high as 1.94 percent.
Seven expenditure groups recorded inflation: group X (food and beverage / restaurant supply) as high as 1.25 percent; group IX (education) as high as 1.13 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture) as high as 0.66 percent; group VII (information, communication, and financial services) as high as 0.57 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.28 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.07 percent; and group III (housing, water, electricity and household fuel) as high as 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, two expenditure groups recorded deflation (m to m), namely group IV (equipment, equipment, and household routine maintenance) as deep as -1.11 percent and group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) as deep as -0.04 percent. Two other expenditure groups recorded no change in index or stagnant, namely group V (health) and VI (transportation).
Commodities recorded as contributing to inflation in July 2020 included pork, cayenne pepper, fried chicken, broiler eggs, ready-to-eat meatballs, cell phones and kindergarten fees.
From 90 CPI cities, recorded 29 cities experienced inflation and 61 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Timika as high as 1.45 percent while the lowest inflation was recorded in two cities namely Jember and Banyuwangi each as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Manokwari as deep as -1.09 percent while the shallower deflation was recorded in five cities namely Gunungsitoli, Luwuk, Bogor, Bulukumba and Bekasi each as deep as -0.01 percent. If ranked from the highest inflation, then Singaraja ranks 20th out of 29 cities experiencing inflation.
