Consumer Price Index of Singaraja City August 2022

Abstract

In August 2022, Singaraja City experienced a deflation of 1.48 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) of 112.81. The inflation rate for the calendar year August 2022 is as high as 3.74 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (August 2022 versus August 2021 or YoY) was recorded as high as 5.25 percent.

One expenditure group recorded deflation (m to m), namely group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) of 4.29 percent. Six groups experienced inflation, namely group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture) as high as 1.85 percent; group IV (equipment, equipment, and routine household maintenance) as high as 0.31 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.22 percent; group V (health) as high as 0.04 percent; group VI (transportation) as high as 0.03 percent; and group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.03 percent. Meanwhile, four other expenditure groups recorded no change in index or were stagnant, namely group VII (information, communication, and financial services); group IX (education); group X (providing food and drinks/restaurants); and group XI (personal care and other services).

Of the 90 cities observed for national inflation, 79 cities experienced deflation and 11 cities experienced inflation. The deepest deflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan City (Bangka Belitung Islands) as deep as 1.65 percent, while the highest inflation was recorded in Ambon City (Maluku) as high as 0.82 percent. If sorted from deepest deflation, Singaraja ranks 3rd out of 79 cities experiencing deflation.
