Development of Singaraja City Consumer Price Index/Inflation November 2021

Abstract

In November 2021, Singaraja City was recorded to experience inflation as high as 0.12 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018 = 100) of 106.92. The inflation rate for the calendar year November 2021 is as high as 0.68 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2021 versus November 2020 or YoY) was recorded as high as 1.76 percent.

 

Seven expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.67 percent; group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) as high as 0.24 percent; group VII (information, communication, and financial services) as high as 0.15 percent; group V (health) as high as 0.11 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture) as high as 0.08 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.04 percent; and group VI (transportation) as high as 0.01 percent each. Meanwhile, another expenditure group recorded deflation, namely group IV (equipment, equipment, and routine household maintenance) of 0.22 percent. The other three expenditure groups did not experience a change in the index or were stagnant, namely; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel); group IX (education); and group X (providing food and drinks/restaurants).

 

Commodities that were recorded to contribute to inflation in November 2021 include cooking oil, rice, broiler eggs, bananas, gold jewelry, wet shrimp, red onions, long beans, and rates for children's hair clippers.

 

Of the 90 CPI cities, 84 cities experienced inflation and 6 cities experienced deflation. If sorted from the highest inflation, then Singaraja ranks 77th out of 84 cities experiencing inflation.
