Denpasar City Consumer Price Index April 2022

Abstract

In April 2022, Denpasar City recorded inflation as high as 1.02 percent as indicated by an increase in the Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) from 108.00 in March 2022 to 109.10 in April 2022. Meanwhile, the inflation rate for the calendar year ( year to date/ytd) and year to year inflation rates (April 2022 to April 2021 or year on year/ YoY) were recorded as high as 2.61 percent and 3.14 percent, respectively.

Of the eleven expenditure groups, nine expenditure groups experienced inflation, namely: group VI (transportation) as high as 3.13 percent; group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) as high as 2.02 percent; group IV (equipment, equipment, and routine household maintenance) as high as 1.49 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 1.04 percent; group V (health) as high as 0.33 percent; group IX (education) as high as 0.13 percent; group X (providing food and beverages/restaurants) as high as 0.10 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.04 percent; group VII (information, communication, and financial services) as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, two other expenditure groups recorded deflation, namely group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture) as deep as 1.51 percent; and group II (clothing and footwear) as deep as 0.75 percent.

Of the 90 cities observed for inflation, it was recorded that all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan (Bangka Belitung Islands) at 2.58 percent, the lowest inflation was recorded in Gunungsitoli (North Sumatra) as high as 0.22 percent. If sorted from the highest inflation rate, Denpasar City with an inflation of 1.02 percent ranks 49th.
